What to know about Amigo
Aruba's oldest local car rental, operating since 1995. Airport office directly across from arrivals (no shuttle needed). Free hotel pickup and dropoff anywhere on the island.
The catch: limited hours (closed 12-1pm for lunch, done by 4pm). Plan your pickup/return around their schedule.
The airport location advantage
Amigo's airport office is across the street from the terminal, not inside. You walk out of arrivals, cross the road, and you're at their desk.
This gives you near-terminal convenience without the 15-25% airport surcharges that Hertz, Avis, and Budget add. It's the best of both worlds for daytime arrivals.
No shuttle wait, no coordination, no wondering if your ride is coming. Just walk over.
The hours limitation
They close for lunch from 12-1pm. If you arrive at noon, you're waiting an hour.
Closing time is 4pm daily. Evening flights won't work for same-day pickup. The airport office number (+297 588 3296) may help coordinate alternatives, but expect limitations.
Plan around these hours. If your flight lands at 3:45pm, you're racing the clock.
Hotel service and longevity
Free hotel pickup and dropoff across the island. Return the car at your hotel on departure day. They'll come get it. No need to drive back to the airport.
Nearly 30 years in business (1995) means repeat customers trust them. That longevity on a small island reflects reliable service. Long-term rental discounts available if you're staying weeks instead of days.
