Curacao International Airport, code CUR and known as Hato, is 12 km from Willemstad and has one terminal. Every local agency we compare offers airport collection, either from the shuttle area outside arrivals or from an office a few minutes away.
There is no terminal-counter premium to dodge here. The choice is between a short shuttle and free delivery to your accommodation.
The Bottom Line
For most visitors: collect at the airport. The shuttle takes a few minutes, almost nobody charges for it, and you have the car for the drive to your hotel. The two exceptions are a first-night stay in Punda or Pietermaai, where parking is the one genuinely awkward part of driving here, and an arrival outside your agency's hours.

Landing Late or Leaving Early?
Hato takes evening flights from Amsterdam and Miami, and several local agencies close well before those land.
If nothing is open: take a taxi to your accommodation and have the car delivered the next morning. D&D, Right Side and RR all deliver, and D&D charges nothing for delivery outside the airport.
What to Have Ready
- 1License and passport. United and MB-Equipment both ask for the passport as well. MB-Equipment specifies a valid category B license.
- 2A card with room for the deposit. $350 at Around Curacao, $500 at United and Boric, $572 at Boric for ages 23 to 25, $1,000 at Boric if you decline their insurance. Just Drive takes none.
- 3Your flight number, sent in advance. It is how they find you when the flight moves.
- 4WhatsApp. Almost every local agency here runs handover instructions and changes through it.

Rush hour in Willemstad runs roughly 7:00 to 9:00 and 16:00 to 18:00, and the Queen Juliana Bridge is the only road crossing of the harbor. Add fifteen minutes if you are driving through the city in those windows.

Where do I meet the rental shuttle at Curacao airport?
At the shuttle area outside arrivals. Boric publishes the walk: leave customs into the arrivals hall, turn right, continue past the car rental pickup area for about thirty feet, then cross the road to the shuttle platform. Just Drive meets you at the Car Rental Shuttle area and drives you to its car park about a minute away.
Is there an airport fee on Curacao rentals?
Most local agencies do not charge one. D&D lists a one-time US $20 airport fee on rentals that start at the airport and delivers free anywhere else on the island, with Westpunt excluded. SmartWheels notes an airport or hotel concession recovery fee on rentals that begin at those locations.
Which agencies are open late at Hato?
Just Drive runs 6:00 to 23:30 every day and Around Curacao lists itself as open 24 hours. Boric covers 8:00 to 21:00 at both the airport shuttle area and the main office. Ross runs to 20:00 on weekdays and 18:00 at weekends. RR Car Rental handles airport pickups between 7:30 and 18:00 only.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Give the agency your flight number when you book. RR Car Rental says it tracks arrivals with an online flight tracker on the day. Most of the other local agencies here work over WhatsApp and adjust the meeting time when you message them.
Can I get the car delivered to my hotel instead?
Yes, and at several agencies it is free. D&D delivers free anywhere except Westpunt, Right Side offers pick-up and drop-off at any time and place, and RR Car Rental delivers to your accommodation. Airport rules stop RR from handing over cars at the terminal at all, so it shuttles you to its own handover point.
